an unauthorized change was made to windows , please help me RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Stephen Holm,

I have the same trouble like DJ WU about  "an unauthorized change was made to windows"  . As you know , i have followed your instruction , but there has a problem:

     2)    Type into the browser address bar: %windir%\system32\perfmon.msc and hit Enter
     3)    When asked if you want to Open or Save this file, select Open

i can follow this step , i just open my Internet Explore and that is every thing , when i copy and paste the text "%windir%\system32\perfmon.msc " , i hit Enter and it doesn't work .

Can you help me please ? I think i have installed some strange programe , and if i want to use " Restore point " , can you show me how i can do that ?

    Thanks for your help,

    Nghia

  • Hello Trung Nghia,

Thank you for visiting us over the weekend. Do you have an anti-virus or other anti-malware programs currently installed on your computer? Some AV programs have different settings you can set to run such as through, quick scan etc. If you have them please set them to run a through scan. Next set the scanner to run at a different setting. Did the programs detect any problems? Also go to http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm and run a complete scan using the OneCare Safety Scan for Windows Vista. Did it find anything? Please let us know.

    Thank you again Trung,

    Stephen
