What is your configuration and what are you trying to connect to? Can you screenshot it?

I am trying to use Email Router for emailing in CRM 2011 on-premise. I first installed Email Router and created the Outgoing Profile using SMTP server name. I used Windows Authentication with Other Specified access credentials and when I tested it from the Users tab of Email Router, it showed test as successful and worked flawlessly. Now, I am able to send emails from CRM through Email Router.
Similarly, I tried to create a Incoming Profile using POP3 server, with CLEAR TEST as the Authentication Type and Other Specified as the Access Credential. in Email Server type : pop.gmail.com .
It was giving some error.
Incoming Status: Failure - An error occurred while executing POP3 command "". The server response was: "".

I think you have Complete the Configration for Outgoing Email
so for Incoming Email use below configration
General Tab
E-Mail Server Type: POP 3
Authentication Type: Clear Text
Use SSL: Yes
E-Mail Server: pop.gmail.com
Access Credentials: other specified
User Name: determined by eamil address
Password: your password of gmail account
Advance Tab
Network Port: 995
Other Fields: can be left at default values
