    Is there any advantage to using DVD discs for backup discs?

    DVD holds much more than a CD, so that is the biggest advantage. An external drive is more convenient, but a DVD, if you have a DVD burner is a great choice for backup medium.

    Steve...thank you for the reply.  I will consider an external drive and in the meantime I will switch to DVD's because of the capacity.
