User with System Administrator Role denied permissions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

A very strange issue indeed. We are using CRM 2013 On-Prem and I was trying to assign an Account record to another user. The user I am logged in as is the CRM admin. The same user who installed CRM 2013 and of course the user has System Administrator privileges.

However, this user is receiving Insufficient Permissions error when trying to Assign an Account record to another user. Here is the error log file.

  • based on the error

     <Message>Principal user (Id=3d3d03f5-f73e-e311-b67b-002219609c15, type=8) is missing prvReadContract privilege (Id=8022a167-ea97-4c91-a41c-b77c083f7113)</Message>

it's quite easy to track. Probably the user that you want to assign the record is missing the privilege (you have SysAdmin so no problem at your side)

check if the target user has the id contained in the error (3d3d03f5-f73e-e311-b67b-002219609c15) and modify his privileges accordingly.

  • Hi Saad,

Yes the user has System Administrator Role and we cannot change the Privileges on System Admin Role. That is why I mentioned, a very strange issue :)
