Set a Quote Active during OnSave based upon a bit field

Question
-
I have an bit attribute called new_approved. When marked yes we need to Activate the Quote upon save. (because the managers aren't able to just select Activate, silly I know).
I have tried changing the statecode to 1 and statuscode to 2.
When i save it pops a Microsoft CRM error

Hi,
I recommend that you run a crm service to manage this, i.e.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb959550.aspx (SetStateQuoteClose)
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb959551.aspx (SetStateQuote)
I have doe similar excersise for Opportunity; working just fine.

Looks like it's time to learn c# and how to use a plugin as there are no examples using javascript.
Thanks again for the reference!

Hi Withers,
yes, you should definetly use a PlugIn for this, but for a .NET developer this is very easy to learn.
Quickstart Guide to Plug-in Development
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc151097.aspx
I hope you do not use Visual C# (VB.NET) Express because it is not possible to debug a PlugIn with Express editions.

I guess one of my biggest conerns is I write on Vista 64-bit and have had issues in the past with this and the SDK. Is this still true?
WithersTuesday, May 5, 2009 8:02 PM -
Hi withersdavid,
I also had issues with Vista x64 and the CRM SDK. Sometimes it worked sometimes not.
May be you should install Visual Studio 2008 on the CRM Server. This is sometimes the easiest thing.
Best regards,
Jürgen
