Stored Procedure Re-Write for ASP Page? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a stored procedure that was originally written to be a status update for Department head who ran queries from SSMS.  It is basically a bunch of queries and computations that instead of returning any tables, but uses PRINT commands to show various database statuses to the message window of the console.

I want to migrate this to a web page.  I know the basics of using datasets and data grids to display table data, but there's no table data to be had from the stored procedure.  Is there a class available that can capture the text output of the procedure and just place it within the web page code?  Or am I looking at re-writing my code to output a table to use as variables in code?

My preference would be to not change the code so that it can be executed from either location.
