Can I register for another exam before receiving MCP ID? RRS feed

  • Question

  • So I just passed my first certification exam.  Now I'm just kind of waiting to see when my MCP ID shows up.  But if I don't want to wait, can I go ahead and register for another exam before receiving my ID #?  Will the 2 exams sync up ok on my record?  Or should I just wait so I can register using my MCP ID?

    Thanks!

  • Yes you can - just be sure to use the same candidate profile you used at Promteric's website the last time, or if you call to schedule make sure they look you up so your profile is not duplicated.

  •  I cannot say about other countries but here in the US I don't think you should wait because Prometric uses Social Security number to identify you because I took seven exams back in 2000 and when I registered for the current six exams I did not provide my MCP ID but prometric had provided both my MCP ID and Social Security number to the testing center when I showed up to take the first two of six.  Below are the email addresses to contact for MCP ID the first is for the US and North America and the second is for the rest of the World but I could be wrong about the second.
