what's the format of the transmiting file in dut tool ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi ,every one

I know the format of receiving data is a sigal block of 128B which contains 28 compex samples. The width of one sample is 32bit and I/Q is 16bit.However,curiously,the formate of transmiting file is like this: re0 im0 re1 im1 re2 im2...,re means I component and im means Q component. The width of I/Q is 8bit.My question is that why the transmiting and receiving data format are different?Maybe I understand wrong?

    thank you very much!

  • The TX signal file of Sora is just a bare I/Q array. No header. 8-bit I and 8-bit Q.

This difference is of history reasons.

  • Hello, Kun Tan, thank you for your reply.

The TX signal file of Sora is a array of 8-bit I and 8-bit Q, however, the I/Q width of  DAC chip in USRP is 14bit. Maybe it doesn't match?
