2011 workflow trigger on date field RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We have a requirement to change the status of an account to "inactive" once the current date is past the "expired date" custom fields date.

I'm trying to implement this in a workflow to keep it native, instead of a windows service, console app, etc.

Not all account have data in that field so I'm guessing the workflow only needs to start once that field is updated with data.

How often would the workflow "check" the date? Would this use up too many system resources?

    Thanks!

    Jon

  • Thanks for the explicit directions and quick response Maryna!

Do you know by chance how often workflows poll for this information? Could it be triggered down to the second?

Not that I would implement anything like that in workflows but just wondering about the poll interval.

    Thanks again,

    Jon
