Uninstalling Live OneCare RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there anyone out there that has an uninstall utility program to delete Live OneCare? It is blatantly obvious that MS only wants to sucker us in and then deeply embeds their software so you cannot delete it. Customer service is worse than AT&T and Dell combined. I have been unsuccessfull in getting through to tech support as the company customer service departments are all run by pond scum microbes. Save your money and sanity and move to Apple.

  • After uninstalling One Care through add/remove programs you can run the One Care install cleanup tool to remove any remaining traces of One Care - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2

  • I recommend contacting support. OneCare would not be the reason why you can't connect to a specific domain, though. The OneCare firewall allows IE to have Internet access. If you can reach some sites, but not others, there is likely either a problem with DNS resolution with your ISP or on your PC - not related to OneCare.
