I want to add a field to case where it has an email address, How do i add it workflow or lookup so that it sends to that address RRS feed


  • You can add a nvarchar field that is formatted like an email addres; however, that will not be selectable for the to field on a CRM email.  The email needs to be the email of either a contact or an account record in CRM. 


    Either you can link the case to a contact in the customer field, or if you use that for account, create a new N:1 relationship between case and contact called Email contact, then use that to lookup the contact you want the email to go to.


    This really is best practice, because you want the email for the case being linked to the contact that you send it to to maintain your activity history.
