Expired Onecare (Equipt) Need help installing new Onecare Purchaced RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought a new copy of onecare after Equipt onecare expired. It was cheaper to buy from amazon than to renew from Micrsoft. So I have a whole new disk and package. My question is do i need to remove old one care to install the new one or can I just pop the new disk in and install. Thanks for any help.

  • HI!

Activate the product key first at onecare.live.com--activate a product key--sign in with your live id and password.

Uninstall and reinstall Windows live onecare.  Go to onecare.live.com--click on the Free Trial button--install the free trial of Windows Live onecare.  Once done installing, open the main page of onecare, click on subscribe and sign in with your live id and password.

  • Activating online is optional.
Simply uninstall your current expired OneCare.
Then install the trial from http://onecare.live.com and activate from within OneCare. You may want to use a new LiveID to activate. Note that the CD you purchased will still go online to get the latest bits, hence the reason to simply install the latest from the site. When subscribing from inside OneCare, choose the option to use a key to activate.
