CRM Excel Pivot Table RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Advanced Find in CRM 4.0 and exporting the results to excel. Over here I use the exported data to create a pivot table and after creating the table I'm changing the Excel file format to .xlsx

On my system, when I refresh from CRM, the excel dataset gets updated and the pivot table updates accordingly. However, when I send the excel workbook to a colleague with the same security role (sys admin), my colleague reports that the dataset gets updated on refreshing but  the pivot table does not update and an error is generated.

The error is "Cannot open PivotTable source file" followed by a path corresponding to my account.

What might be causing the problem? Shouldn't the pivot table link directly with the workbook and change when the dataset details get modified?

  • Thanks for the reply saurabh...

I read online that pivot tables on a dynamic workbook can give some problems when emailed...
I uploaded the doc on the Sharepoint and was able to share...

  • Hi,

Few things that  you can try:

Does your colleague have the MS outlook for CRM installed?

If its a view from where you are exporting share it with him.

Try exporting non dynamic worksheet(if possible).

    Hope it helps.
