Update one entity to another from WorkFlow RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

Can anyone pls let me know is it possible to update one entity to another using Workflow ?

I have custom attribute(stage) in Task and whenever I create task under oppotunity , I like to auto update sale stage of the oppotunity with the stage of this task.

Eg, If I create task and set stage to stage1 and saved, the last sale stage of the oppotunity will be stage1. (surely the stage of task and sale stage of opportunity picklists will contain same items)

    Any idea is appreciated!

  • Yes you can.

You can create a WF for the Task entity to be triggered when 'Record is created'.

Then, you can set up an 'Update Record' step (conditioned that the Task is related to an opp) and update your 'Regarding (opportunity)' record with the stage field in your Task (click on 'Set Properties)'. You just select the field in the opp form and at the right ('Form Assistant'), select the Task entity and task stage field so as to be updated from it.

    Make sense? Hope this helps,
