I want to give my old computer to my grandson's friend. I don't want to give the young people just a shell that would have to be repartitioned and new software loaded. In other words, I don't want to fully wipe out the hard drive - just my files and personal info. Also, I want to remove the MAC from Internet so when the kids log into the Internet and the MAC is read, I don't want the website to think it is us - the original owners, logging in. What do you suggest?
If you want to give it to them forever, I suggest that you buy a harddisk (new one) that is compatible with your old laptop and then take out your old harddisk and keep it and they will use old one.
