2008 Evalutation Copy for Training RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm working on 2008 R2 certifications and have downloaded the evaluation copy. To finish my training for the first exam, I have to use 4 computers with 2008 installed on it. I'm wondering if I'm going to get through all the material before the evaluation copy expires. What's the best way to get additional licenses for 2008 server so I can install it all on the PC's I'm using for training? Do I need a technet or msdn subscription? Or would using the software from those subscriptions violate the license?

Also, do you think I should continue working towards 2008 R2 certification or start over with 2012? I'm about a 1/4 of the way through studying for the first exam. Will it be awhile before they retire 640, 642 and 646? Thanks!

You can "rearm" the evaluation to extend its duration for another 60 days:

This can only be done a limited number of times (three if I recall correctly), but it should be enough to let you finish preparing your exams.
