How to Reset File Associations to Default Values RRS feed

    I mistakenly set the file association for LNK files to Notepad.  Every icon on the desktop changed to the default Notepad icon.  Every link I clicked opened the LNK file in Notepad -- no surprise there!  In a moment of inspiration and intrepidness, I had what I thought was a brilliant stroke of common sense -- I associated the LNK files with Windows Explorer!!!  LOL-LMAO-ROFL.  Yes, please laugh until your belly aches and your extremely short of breath.  So, how do I reset the file associations to default values?  Otherwise, I'll have to trudge through a Clean Install.  O Joy -- What Fun!
