Configure Outlook For CRM 2011 On Premise RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have installed MSD CRM 2011 on the Data Centre Server. CRM 2011 Server, SQL Server 2008 R2 and Active Directory all are in the same machine. So we can comfortably access the CRM using web browser (internet). But, when I am going to configure outlook into the client machine which is either in different domain or a workgroup. I am getting the below message :

I also gone through the error log but nothing found helpful. I also checked on the internet where I found that we need to configure CRM in IFD mode to a resolve this issue.

So, I wanted to know that, we really need to configure CRM in IFD mode?

    Thanks !!!

  • Hi,

Before the answer; it is not recommended to install CRM on the same machine with AD.

If you want to use the connector on the domain there is no need to use IFD. Otherwise, use IFD configuration. One more hint, check for the rollup versions of CRM to avoid the issues of incompatibility.

  • Thanks Payman,

I want to use the connector on the different domain or workgroup not on the same domain.

I have the update rollup 15 installed.
