Unable to setup Active Directory on Desktop to open up Active Directory on the Server - Receiving an error message - the MMC could not create the snap in.

    Question

  • Hello,

I would like to setup an Active Directory shortcut on a desktop computer to open up Active Directory on the server.  The server is:  Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition and the Desktop is Windows 7 64 bit.

I installed the admin pack for Windows 7 64 bit on the desktop and I also installed the Remote Server administration tools on the Windows 7 64 bit machine.

When I open up the Active Directory shortcut on the machine, I receive the error message that the MMC could not create the snap-in.

    Please help.

    Thank you!

    Lisa
