WGA says genuine but will not validate RRS feed

  • Question

  • My computer need to validate to get the DirectX updates.  I ran the WGA tool and it said that my Windows is genuine.  It says it is registered  1.5.540.0.  Also, on my Office XP validation it says the status is 114.  What does that mean?

How do I get it to validate my copy of Winodws XP Pro and Office XP?

Please go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and click Validate Windows - that should resync the WGA Validation files.

Afterward, please click Start, then Run, then type in "WGAtray.exe /b" and click OK, then reboot. That should fix it!

Unfortunately, your copy of Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage (Status 114) is non-genuine. You'll need to uninstall it, then visit a nearby store that sells computer software and purchase a genuine version of Microsoft Office.
