OCS 2007 R2 and SQL Licensing RRS feed

    Ok so it looks like OCS 2007 R2 requires a dedicated SQL back-end. Can anyone explain the licensing requirements for this? Is the SQL licensing similar to SCCM or SCOM?

    The Enterprise Edition of OCS (either version) requires a SQL back-end.  Standard Edition installs SQL Express locally.  If you are using Enterprise Edition then you will need to use an existing SQL server (if you have one with adequate capacity) or install a new one.

    The SQL licensing page has good info on how it's licensed.
