Default Web Site become "Service Unavailable" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a WHS installed. When I tried to open web site http://myserver/ (and http://localhost/ from the server directly) I was redirected to "http://myserver/home/default.aspx?gotodefault=true" with message "Service Unavailable".
I have not touched any IIS configs but may be it was one of the addons...
Which settings could result in that behavior?

All local policies, user rights in IIS and folders already checked, all other IIS setting looks good...

  • What happens, if you Turn off Remote Access in Settings/Remote Access and activate it again?
Or select the Repair button, if this does not function?

Which add-ins have you installed?  You could try checking the services on the server and see if there are any that are set as Automatic that are not running (which they should be when they are automatic).

  • Are all IIS related services on the server started? Log in locally and check Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services. Sort by Startup Type. Chck, if the World Wide Web Publishing service is started.

  • Thank you for your reply.

All services with Automatic Startup type are Started except Performance Log and Alerts (it's normal).

    And this urls works normally:
    http://myserver:55000
    https://myserver:56000
    and
http://myserver/tsweb (from default web site, but redirect not to c:\inetpub subfolder)

Other default web site subfolders don't work.

    Installed Addons list:
    DuplicationInfo-1.2.0.0.msi
    LightsOutInstaller0.8.0.195.msi
    Tab Reorderer.msi
    Tab Scroller.msi
    Toolkit.msi
    whiist.msi
    WHSAdminInstaller.msi
    WHSDiskManagement.1.0.9.8.msi
    WHSToolkit.msi
    WHSWidget.msi
