Windows Live OneCare stopped working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Since the weekend Windows Live OneCare has stopped working.  Internet Explorer doesn't work either.  I can't access anything through control panel.  I can't access services through the cmd prompt either.  I can't uninstall or re-install OneCare.  Basically the computer is virtually useless and I can't do anything about it.  Please can you help?  Thanks, Deirdre

  • If only OneCare had stopped working, I'd suggest checking the computer date and time - right click the clock and select Adjust date and time. It may still be that, but since you also have problems with IE and control panel, and services, I have a sneaking suspicion that your PC may have become infected by malware that OneCare was unable to stop.

I recommend contacting OneCare support who can help remove malware if that's the issue, or repair OneCare.
