  • Hello Pravin,

You can use project server 2010 playbook to migrate the enterprise objects including PDP & CFs.

You can download the Resource kit of project server :

    Hope that helps.

  • Hi Pravin,

Could you please explain a bit about your design? Are these fields necessary to have as a project level custom fields ?can you try to use OOB fields as much as possible. Also, Can you manage these fields at project site level as content type?

If you wana have the data in these fields for a project, I would say to design a custom database & categorized these fields in tables based on your logic with project Guid as a unique key & store these in custom database. You will have to use the WCF/PSI & deploy in solution which will connect to custom database to populate the data & do the CRUD operations.

  • Hi,

Thanks for reply, its very useful.

1). I'll recheck and plan to use OOB fields.

2). Can you please guide me more about project site level content type? I tried creating content type but there is no way to define it in as a custom field, may be i missunderstand.

3). I upgrading demand managment portal to Project server, which is now in SP and having 20 Infopaht forms, whcih i am converting to PDP's.

4). Can I plan to use sharepoint lists, except the custom database because this way i can manage the permissions better. Please suggest if Database operation is better.
