Top Answerers

Question

Hi,
A suggestion: Would be nice to see why the top answerers are the top answerers. Are they all time toppers or just from the last 30 days like in the old forums? And how many answers did they give?

I sure hope they fix the Top Answerers section where it doesn't update literally every minute. It drags the site down to a crawl because of that feature. When I'm in part of the forums where the Top answerers aren't listed, the site runs nice and smoothly, but this insistance on once a minute updates makes these new forums unusable.Friday, June 27, 2008 3:28 PM

I have noticed one big plus that the forums have done. They have a "Pause Automatic Refresh" button now up. Once I hit pause it was like night and day. The forums were actually good again. However, I think the Automatic Refresh should be "Paused" by default. I shouldn't have to burn a minute to or two just trying to pause "Automatic Refresh."Friday, June 27, 2008 6:31 PM

Today's release has some text that says "Last 30 days" so that should be helpful.
Glad you found the pause button, we've always had it. Sounds like we should cookie your setting for that once it's paused?

Oh yes, please cookie that. It is exactly opposite the way I want it. I'm forever clicking Resume on the My Threads page and Pause on the forums view page. The latter is just redrum with the Unread filter turned on. In general, I wish I could effectively use the forums with having to use Unread. With the latest update, a gray background for updated threads jumps to mind.
