CRM Reports uploaded to SSRS having incorrect DataSource RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our CRM 2011 instance has been upgraded to CRM 2015.  I had to do rename the Org database as it was incorrect according to our Dev/UAT instances.  All existing reports work OK but any new reports uploaded don't.

If I run SQL Profiler and run one of the reports that isn't working, I can see that it's trying to connect to the database before it was renamed (which now doesn't exist).

Any ideas on how I can resolve this?

  • I think this could be one of 2 issues:

    1. CRM will use the same organisation database as the report is in, provided the DataSource in the report was not defined as a Shared Data Source. If it was defined as a Shared Data Source, then you'll either need to change the connection string in the Shared Data Source (do this in SSRS Report Manager), or modify each report to use a non-shared Data Source
    2. How did you rename the organisation database ? The supported way would be to delete the organisation from CRM, rename the database, then import the organisation database. If you did it another way, this may be source of your issue
