Adding Custom Field to Existing Report.rdl RRS feed

    I am working on an existing RDL file, trying to add a custom field which falls under 'Case'. It is literally a second Subject Field (it actually pulls from the same data source as the original Subject Field. This just gives the user the option of selecting a second subject).

    Since the report was not built using the wizard, I am having a hard time grabbing that custom field so that I can add it to the report through Report Builder 3.0. I think the main problem is connecting to the database using this tool. 

    I left clicked Datasets > theQuery > and attempted to add the field under the "Change query and calculated fields" but it does not show up when I upload the rdl back into CRM. I am also unable to run the report independently of CRM (that is, point to a data source, and run the rdl).

    Anyone has any experience in the matter?
