OCS2007 Planing multiple geographical sites RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a question regarding planning of an OCS installation over multiple geographical sites.
IP Voice (telephony) will not be configured.

The main office is in Europe with small regional offices in different countries (5-15 employees).
Two offices in Asia with local Exchange servers (total of 50+ users).
All offices are placed in the same forest and domain.
The offices are connected with slow WAN links (1 – 2Mbit)

I’m trying to find out the best solution for the OCS installation for the users in Asia, and I guess they will need a local OCS installation…?
There are only a few users in each regional office in Europe so a local installation will not be necessary for them.

Microsoft state that you must have 4 separate servers when configuring a new site (two edge, ISA and OCS server), is that really true?

Any tips, experiences and ideas are greatly appreciated.
