I bought a laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed. I receive a prompt for the product key whenever I attempt to open an office program. I've entered the 25 digit key on the sticker on the underside of my laptop, but I receive an error message that it is invalid. I haven't found any answers from previous posts with a similar problem. Below is the diagnostic. If the product key that came with my laptop is invalid, how do I get a valid one to access Office programs?

The product key on the bottom of your Toshiba laptop is for the Windows 7 installation on the laptop. It is not for any other program.
Major computer manufacturers often install Trial editions of Office 2007 on their consumer computers. Did your new Toshiba computer come with such a Trial? If so, it also came with instructions on how to activate the Trial for the 60 day or 25 use trial period. You may have been supplied with a card with the Trial product key, or there may be an additional helper program installed (Office Activation Assistant) that helps you activate your Trial.
If you cannot locate the Trial product key, please contact Toshiba customer support for assistance.
If your Trial time or use limit has been reached, you will have to purchase a perpetual product key and convert Office to a perpetually licensed product to restore its full functionality. For great advice on all topics XP, visit http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp
