CRM4 Outlook Install causes addon not to load RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a customer that has upgraded CRM3 to CRM4. The server is working fine.
Browser access from client is fine.
When you uninstall any of the CRM3 outlook clients the CRM item in the toolbar seems to remain in a disabled state. I could not get rid of it. The registry items are not there. THe program files are all clean. MSCRM.pst is deleted.
When the CRM4 client is installed it detects an upgrade. It installs ok and the configure works ok as well. When outlook is started it seems to go throug the configuration process ok and at the last stage encounters an error and disables the toolbar.
The CRM explorer seems to work fine but the toolbar & menu items are disabled.
    Please Advise.

    Thanks,

  • In addition to what Donna recommended, removing %appdata%\microsoft\outlook\outcmd.dat while Outlook is closed should remove the CRM 3.0 toolbar from Outlook.

  • This article might help.  It provides the steps to manually uninstall the Outlook laptop client.  You'll need to ensure that all references to the Outlook Client are removed from the user's workstation before installing the 4.0 Client.  First uninstall the 4.0 client and then go through all the steps to manually uninstall the 3.0 client.

  • Deleting outcmd.dat fixed the addon conflict. Many thanks!
