Record level security is possible in CRM 2011 ? RRS feed

  • Hi CRM Experts,

    Scenario - We have 100 contact records at CRM Business unit '123' and all these 100 records visible by all 100 users. Now i want to restrict only 1 user not to see 1 record only.

    How i can acheive this senario consider OOTB options in crm 2011...

    Please help.

  • There's no way you can achieve with OOTB functionality.

    The only ways I can thought of are

    • controlling it by Team sharing functionality triggering from the Plugin
    • filtering out the results with Retrieve and RetrieveMultiple plugins

    Either way, you need certain level of development.

  • Hi,

    This can be achieved using Business units concept and for each security role you can set the access levels as none, business unit, parent child business unit and organization level. Privileges like read, write, create, delete, append, append to, share and assign.
