WHS doesnt seem to use a recently added HD RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Fujitsu Siemens server running WHS with 2 500 Go HDs .
As these disks started to be reasonnably full (ie 81 and 42 %) I thought wise to add a 3rd one . The installation process went smoothly . BUT WHS does not seem keen to use the addtional capacity as I see the % of the 2 original disks increasing while the 3rd one isn't used at all .
As I use the "disk management add-in", I have the fwg report for the recently added HD :

    Name ST350032 0AS             Q95MMEL2
    Physical Disk 2
    Serial Number Q95MMEL2
    GUID d2201bbd-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
    Role StorageDisk
    Status Sain
    Failure Predicted False
    Temperature 33 C / 91,4 F
    Contains Backups False
    Capacity 465 GB
    Used Space 0 GB
    Shadow Copy Size 0 GB
    Free Space 465 GB
    Connected True
    Interface IDE
Controller Intel(R) 82801GR/GH SATA AHCI Controller
    Path Unknown
    External False

This seems identical to the reports for the other HDs except for "path" which is either master or slave . What can I do to correct it ?

Thanks in advance to whoever can help.

That's normal behavior.  WHS uses the drive with the least free space available (until that drive gets down to about 20 GB free).  I wouldn't worry about what the add-in says in regards to the path as long as the Console shows all 3 drives as part of the storage pool and healthy.
