Here is some info on the PIC provisioning process: http://www.evangelyze.net/cs/blogs/mike/archive/2008/05/30/the-pic-provisioning-process.aspx.
The Edge server deployment guide will give you the server configuration information you are seeking: http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?familyid=ED45B74E-00C4-40D2-ABEE-216CE50F5AD2&displaylang=en.

Hi
You need to register the Access Edge Server external FQDN on the Public DNS Server.
Once you have this fqdn registered, you need to get provisioning done using following info...
To make a provisioning request, visit the following Web site: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/communicationsserver/ and then click the 'Public IM Connectivity Provisioning' link on the right.HA102030071033.aspx
This link is available at the following locations:• A link on the MS Volume Licensing home page. • A link in the SP1 product documentation.
You will get confirmation email from Microsoft Provisioning team once provisioning is done. After that you need to follow the following link to configure the Access Edge Server
http://www.ocspedia.com/Edge_Server/Configure_AccessEdge. htm
After following above link, follow the below one..
http://www.ocspedia.com/Edge_Server/Global_AE.htm
and thats all!
