Cann`t download onecaresetup.exe for beta 2.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  •

From original post " Sign up at http://get.live.com/betas/onecare_betas! " but when I go to the url I get only the page with such title "

    Windows LiveWindows Live

    Bringing your online world together"
On this pages I don`t see any info about OneCare Beta 2.0.
So how I can download onecaresetup.exe for beta 2.0?
PS. I ask about this because some days ago I got such message via e-mail"

We are still looking for beta testers, so if you know someone who’s interested, direct them to get the v2.0 beta at http://get.live.com/betas/onecare_betas."

  • I'm not sure why you don't see the button for signing up, but go here:

    http://connect.microsoft.com/Survey/Survey.aspx?SurveyID=2842&SiteID=168

  • Stephen you were right! After refilling the survey I get the access to link for onecaresetup.exe. After that I go to http://get.live.com/betas/onecare_betas & detect that I was redirected to http://get.live.com/betas/onecare_betas?wa=wsignin1.0 but I still don`t have the access for Beta 2.0 on the site. More that that I don`t see sign in/sign out button on the site! Pease notify Windows Live team about this!

  • Try clearing cookies and temporary Internet files for IE. Then close all browser windows and start over at the above link.

If you keep getting looped around, the direct d/l link should be from here - but please make sure that you've signed up with the Connect Survey before using this link - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=73811

  • I clear cookies & temp IE files, but I still don`t have access for beta on http://get.live.com/betas/onecare_betas, More that that I detect that page http://beta2.onecare.live.com/standard_beta/en-us/purchase/default.htm has incorrect link for download: http://give.live-int.com/betas/onecare_betas

  • Hmmm....what is the language setting you have for Internet Explorer? And where did you get the beta2 link above that has the incorrect internal download link on it?

In any event, I just discovered this when I tried to get the download path -

Thank you.  The Windows Live OneCare Beta (v2.0) installation site is currently down for maintenance, please visit again on August 28th.

I'm looking for verification that this is true and I didn't just bump into an error!

  • It`s good news. It`s mean that the team know about the problem & sovle the problem August 28th. I get the beta after filled survey on Microsoft Connect web site. I check the situation on too different OS(Windows Vist Ultimate Eng & Windows XP Home Edition Rus), but IE has the same lang setting: Primary lang: eng; Secondary lang: Rus. I

thought that the  possible cause of the problem is the provider location, but I detect this problem with 2 different providers. This providers are located in Russia, but internet services detect that one of them is located in Sweden. It`s happen because this provider use satellite. So I detect that the OS & provider doesn`t have any influence on the problem.

  • Once the server issue is resolved, you should be able to download and install the beta, but you won't be able to activate OneCare when it is released as it isn't available for purchase in Russia or Sweden at this time.
