    recently did a Windows XP repair......now, when I boot up it requires an immediate activation. If I check yes....it hangs.......if I check no, I go back to the login screen.   If I boot in safe mode, I get the same two choices only if I check yes, It restarts and if I check no, then I get a new screen of system restore from a different time which there are none there. If close this screen, then I'm in normal safe mode and I can get to all the files. How do I activate or bypass this activation problem.

    Hello 1946dave,

    Sometimes XP repair reinstallations do not go 100% smoothly and activation breaks.

    Follow the procedure that gets you to Safe Mode where you can access your files.  Backup and offload your files.  Once the data is safe, do a full recovery or repartition/reformat and a clean installation of XP.
