Project Server 2007 Sp1 and Sql server 2008 R2

Hi there,

We have Project Server 2007 Sp1 which uses Sql Server 2005 sp3. We are planning to upgrade Sql Server 2005 to Sql Server 2008 R2. I am wondering if Project Server 2007 Sp1 is compatible with Sql Server 2008 R2.

I know for WSS 3.0, It needs to have SP2 to work with SQL Server 2008R2.

I couldn't find similar information for Project server 2007 SP1.

Hi there,

You will also need SP2 for Project Server 2007 as WSS 3.0 and Project Server 2007 will need to be at the same patch level, so both at SP2. Worth noting is the trace flag for the cube build in SQL 2008 R2 mentioned here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/brismith/archive/2008/03/24/slow-olap-cube-builds-and-large-tempdb-revisited.aspx
