Privilege Type Read not defined on entity “StringMap” RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a very simple FetchXML query that runs perfectly fine in XrmToolbox's FetchXML Builder or FetchXML Tester:

    <fetch count="50">

      <entity name="stringmap" />

    Basically I am trying to fetch 50 records from the StringMap entity from my Dynamics CRM 2013 On-Premise install. But when I take this query and use it in Visual Studio Data Tools to build a SSRS report, it generates an error Privilege Type Read not defined on entity “StringMap”. Does anybody know what the problem is and how to fix this?

  • Have you solved this issue? I have just come across the same thing?

  • It may be that you can't use the stringmap entity in FetchXml. The error message is correct, in that I don't think there is a specific readStringMap privilege.

    What are you trying to do ? StringMap has optionset labels, which you can get by exporting a solution, though that does need further unzipping and xml parsing
