Repeating Accounts when Advanced Find RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to run an advanced find view on accounts to show all Accounts that have had an Opportunity created in the last 2 years. I used the advanced find to show accounts and used the related field Opportunities (Potential Customer) where 'Created On' was in last 2 years.

I run the results and get 1 account entry for every single opportunity. For example if Company A has 3 opps created in the past 2 years then company A shows up 3 times in the report instead of 1 time.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a glitch?

  • Can you post a screenshot of your query somewhere? -

    I can't reproduce the behaviour you're seeing.

  • I can't emulate the behaviour. I run the query and get one account per hit, even though some of the accounts have multiple opportunities (I'm using the demo db and Tailspin has about half a dozen opps but comes up in the Advanced Find only once).

I'd double-check the primary entity for the seach is account and also apply the latest rollup.

  • Thanks for the tip. I'm hoping Roll-Up 6 will correct this issue. We're currently on Roll-Up 3 so i'll install tonight after hours and get back to you.

  • I was able to upgrade to Rollup 6 but still ran into the exact same problem when i was running the advanced find. Still got 'x' account listings that equal the number of opportunities for that account despite the actual account only exists 1 time in CRM.

  • Do you have a plug-in running on the Execute message?

  • We don't have any plug-ins running at all.

  • Is the "Look For" object of your advanced find the opportunity? - if so, you need to rebuild it with the account as the 'look for' item and then put the opportunity information in the 'select' area.

  • No that's what's weird I tell the Advanced find to look up Accounts. In the details my Related table i choose is Opportunities (Potential Customer). Is that the rigth related table field name to be looking for?

  • Yes - in the related area choose Opportunity (Potential Customer) - and then from there you can set the values that define which opportunities you're looking for. - (createdon last 2 years.)

  • That's what i did and I got a repeating list of the same accounts that equals the number of opportunities for that account not just putting the account once.
