    My desktop (XP pro) with 2 HDs failed to find either drive.  Both are backed up to WHS.  All programs on Drive A; most data on Drive B.  I determined motherboard failure and bought new desktop with 2 HDs (W7 Ultimate).  Is there any software or methodology I can use to restore programs from WHS to the new W7 environment?
    I can reinstall the programs but would love to avoid the hours (days) that it will take to accomplish.

    Perhaps for programs that do not write entries to the registry, but there are very few that do not; most do. There is no way around this. Bite the bullet and reinstall the programs; you'll not regret it.
