Bug: RD Error Code 00000197, 10 when not using Proxy RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello,
This is on Windows XP SP3, trying to connect to another remote desktop as well as trying to make this machine available for remote desktop. I have 2 network adapters in this system, a wireless one connected to my work LAN and a wired adapter connected to a cable modem. The work LAN has no route to the outside, systems on it use a proxy. I have my Proxy detection turned off in IE and Firefox. However, it appears as if Mesh is trying to use that adapter because I get errors trying to use remote access (either to connect to another machine or to make this machines desktop available). I have my live mesh logs if they would be useful. I'm surprise this is an issue since most other apps work fine. Remote desktop works if I disable the LAN (work) connection.

    Thanks!

  • It does seem like it is wanting to access the network via the work LAN connection instead of your non-proxy connection. When there are two active network connections, things can get tricky with applications needing network access.
I'd go ahead and file the bug with logs:

Read the title of my post again, read my post again, and then reconsider your response.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I wanted to see if anyone else had run into the same issue. Will do!
