Windows Vista - Startup Repair - Cannot logon with admin account because Logon Screen promt me to enter Username/password for "Other User" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Dell Studion 1535, OS is Vista. When I choose "Launch Startup Repair" on the booting screen or "Repair Your Computer" from Advanced Boot Option by pressing F8 a logon screen appears promting me to enter username/pw for "Other User". I tried with my Administrator user account and all other Windows user accounts but none of them can log in. Logon error message occurs: The specifed domain either does ot exist or could not be contacted.

Previously I used to logon for Startup Repair with my Admin account.

  • I'm having the same issue and can't use the Repair Center because it won't accept any combination of username/password for "Other User".
