  • It is part of a larger org.  I am cleaning and updating it for a Nonprofit 501-3c.  It does have a certificate affixed.   It does not have the version except possibly "x10-23534".  there is also a serial number of the CoA

The Windows key that has been posted in your report as a blocked VLK is a widely pirated product key that was released even before Windows XP was released.  If you can find a valid OEM license key on the COA sticker and can read the 25 character product key then you should be able to reinstall using that key from a generic OEM disk of the same product (Home or Pro and from the searches of x10-23534 I have tried it appears that it is an OEM XP Home product that you would need the disk for.)

You may be able to contact HP and see if you can get the system rebuild set for that computer (though the possibility is slight due to it's age) for a small cost and then you would have the full set of drivers and OS that can be installed.

  • Hello pvhsii,

Does your HP Compaq computer have a Windows Certificate of Authenticity affixed to it?  If so please tell us what version and edition of Windows is listed on the CoA.  Don't post the product key.

Your Office installation is reporting as a Volume Licensing installation.  Is the computer part of a larger organization that has a valid Volume Licensing Agreement with Microsoft for the use of the installed Volume Licensing edition of Office Professional 2003?
