  • Question

  • What are some recommended performance counters that I should keep an eye on?

I know there are hundreds but how to I manage the performance of CRM Server?

  • It really depends what you're intending to achieve with your performance monitoring. Do you just want to have a baseline for comparison across most areas, or are there more specific areas you are concerned about ?

  • I just want an baseline so that as time goes on, I can compare the new stats with the old stats.

  • On the CRM Server, if you open up Perfmon.exe, you will see that a baseline counter is present. It's a good idea to run that as soon as you rollout a deployment.

  • Have you considered the performance analyzer toolkit? It's free from Microsoft and provides some great health info. It is more focused on the database but have found it quite useful. http://dynamicsperf.codeplex.com/
