Rotating external backups for Windows Home Server 2011 RRS feed

  • <p>I have been spending an hour looking for an answer to what seems like a very simple problem..</p><p>I have two external USB drives, one of which I keep at an external location.&nbsp; I am doing a server backup to&nbsp;these drives.&nbsp; How do I unplug the drive?&nbsp; It seems the "Remove the hard drive from Server Backup" removes it permanently.&nbsp; Yet there is no "Unplug" option, and I am reluctant to just pull it out - can't find anything that says you can just yank&nbsp;out the USB cable.&nbsp; And it doesn't seem right I have to log on to the server and </p><p></p><p>I beleive the old WHS 1.0 allowed me to disconnect.</p>

  • There isn't a "Disconnect" option other than the one you mentioned which does not do what you want. As long as a backup is not running you can just pull out the cable. If you are particularly concerned, you could shut down your Server first.
