Security roles and testing RRS feed

  • Question

  • We're about implement CRM 4.0 and now I'm configuring different security roles. I need to test the different roles so make sure that I have achieved to show/hide the right entities etc and privileges.

Is there a method to log out of CRM without having to log out of Windows (we use Active Directory to control logins) to then log in with a test crm-user with the security role being tested?

  • you can change the settings in your IE Intranet to prompt for user name and loging.  Go to Tools, Internet Options, Security, select Local Intranet, select Custom Level, scroll all the way to the bottom and select the Prompt for Login option.

  • Hi Alex,

yes, you just have to use the IP-Adress of your CRM-Application. Be sure that the IP-Adress is not in the Intranet or Trusted Zone in the Internet Explorer Settings. This should ask you for your windows credentials each time you start the web application.
