Antivirus Confusion RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi to all,

I'm a windows XP user.Though we all proud to use XP for its user friendly & its ecosystem but one reality we need to understand. XP need a very effective Antivirus.I 've tried AVG,Trend Micro. Now i'm using NOD32.

Can anyone suggest me a effective antivirus? It should support automatic update in LAN.

  • even i share the same confusion as u do

however for time being i think for me "quick heal" does the job
its just too good for viruses
it contains a database of almost all the viruses

    u can find it at
    http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/Anti-Virus_Utilities/Quick_Heal.html

    enjoy

  • One of the best antivirus is Avast
It offers the boot time scan
It also provides the free home edition licence for one year
It will scan all the viruses before they load into memory
even after infected by virus we can remove virus with boot time scanning

  • If I am suppose to comment on this then I would suggest you to use any free antivirus like Avast,AVG or Avira and also install a firewall free like Comodo or Zone Alarm definitely.

If you need even more protection then go for an additional installation of Norton Security Scan available through pack.google.com

    or Google pack

My recommendations won't cost you a penny and also I think this is the best overall free protection a home user can get.

  • In my opinion, you can definitely try out Avast. It is absolutely free & very effective .10000 times better than Norton. The latter one is a complete waste.
