Unable to install MSM UK 2005

Question
-
I am trying to install MSM using this link:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/5/8/858EDC2F-1806-4D2D-85E3-0FBB08CB720A/Money2005-UK-QFE2.exe.exe
I have installed from here a few times before, now however, I get the messages either, file could not be downloaded or a 404 server error.
Does anyone know if this download been removed or of some other issue and what the resolution might be?
Thanks
Lloyd

If you installed Money 2005 UK from a CD, update it with the download from http://moneymvps.org/downloads/files/2005/Money2005-UK-QFE2.exe and do any future installs with that download only.
If you have a copy of your Money data file, put it somewhere in your User Documents area and on starting Money 2005 go to File - Open and navigate to the file.
If you have only the .mbf backup, put that file in your Documents area and go to File - Restore backup on starting Money 2005.

The original link has stopped working. Fortunately http://moneymvps.org/downloads/files/2005/Money2005-UK-QFE2.exe has that file for you. See the Sunday, November 27, 2016 post on the sticky post for some more information.Tuesday, January 10, 2017 3:30 AMModerator

How did it work. Did you install Money 2005 on Windows 10? If so, were you able to download previous accounts, expense & income etc.
I had to buy a new PC (Windows 10), have installed the Money 2005, and have a backup of previous usage (from Windows 7). However Money 2005 doesn't seem to recognise the fact that I've used it before and wants me to install new accounts.
Its driving me crazy. Please answer.
Thanks

The most likely cause is that your data files are in the wrong place. As Money suggests create and save a new file and find it on the Disk. It should turn up in the Documents folder. Put your existing data files in the same folder. You should now be able to open them via 'Open' command or double clicking the data file.
