Spurious data shown against disk on "Server Storage". Anyone else? RRS feed

  • It looks like a manufacturer's model number to me. My internal (non-RAID; the RAID array just shows Promise 4 Disk RAID5) disk shows a similar string, and in that case I know it's the disk model number.

  • Thanks Ken.  That's pretty much what I figure too.  Cosmetic, but since that's part of what the consumer will see, I guess the folks at MS would want to know about it.

  • Have the same thing with a Maxtor drive.  I am not sure if it is the model number or not but I have had the drive for some time on several different systems without any problems.  At least not with the drive...
