  • Those exams were for Windows Server 2003 and ISA Server 2006.

There is no longer an upgrade path for Server 2003. You must take Windows Server 2008 or Server 2012 exams to earn the new MCSE certification.

You will always be certified for Windows Server 2003.

    Good luck to you.

  • Hi,

You can still upgrade from MCSE 2003, I wrote a wiki about this: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/16483.upgrade-from-mcsamcse-2003-to-mcsa-server-2012.aspx

  • Beware, everyone. UPGRADE exams can be the toughest exams to pass because they contain test questions pulled from question pools for the two, three, or four tests that they represent. They can be almost impossible to study for.

I simply cannot recommend to someone to study Server 2008, take hellish UPGRADE exams, and then study Server 2012 just to become an MCSE. This comes with the July 31st, 2013 deadline for one of the exams - no way!

Start fresh and just become certified in Server 2012.

These are just my opinions. Throw them away if you'd like.

  • Have you tried the Certification Planner? Log-in to your account at www.microsoft.com/mcp, and then click on the link "My Certification Planner" near the top left of the screen. You will see a list of certifications, click on the MCSE that you want, and you will see a list of the exams that you need to pass to achieve it.

Be warned that your exams are somewhat out of date, so you may find that some upgrade paths are already closed because the corresponding exams have been retired.
