MS Money. sunset RRS feed

  • Question

  • After computer crash, I upgraded from 32 bit to 64. Old MS Works Money files no longer work. Boo Hoo - for I have liked these for decades, despite their awkward 'mosdos saving possibilities.

    The MS 'sunset' Money program converted my bank records - great relief.  As I suspected, there are too many time-consuming bells and whistles on this 'upgrade', but that's life.

    My question:  Is it possible to select different colour schemes etc on the sunset MS Money.  The old format enable a choice of colours, and then altered the colour between each transaction, making it easy on the eye - which the Sunset, ( no pun intended), is NOT!

    Any info how to change the colour scheme would be greatly appreciated.

  • No, but I expect that your eyes will adjust to the new scheme. You were tuned into the other colors and configurations for a long time.

    As far as helping the eyes, this only works for the web-page-like pages:
    In IE, View->TextSize->Largest.

    Another thing that can make every thing bigger is to tell Windows that your screen resolution is higher.  On a blank spot on the desktop, right click and choose Properties->Settings->Advanced change the DPI setting to a higher number.  This will have some downside too.  You will have to
    experiment, and change back if you find the downside to outweigh the upside.

    I presume that you had a North American version of works, since Sunset works for you. For a UK file, you would have installed Money 2005 UK instead. Sunset and Money 2005 have the same blue color scheme.

  • Thank you, Cal.

    Your comment about the UK file is interesting.  I will experiment!
